“What are you gonna buy?”
“I’m starting office tomorrow and need a new shoe”
“Just one shoe? what will you do for the other leg?”
“C’mon.. you know what I mean, I’ll buy a pair”
“There you go, no one buys a shoe, but a 'pair of shoes'”
“Alright, I agree, btw, I also need a new specs.. or wait should it be like.. I also gotta get a new pair of specs?”
“Absolutely, you're getting it! let’s get ready”
“Wait.. I’m wearing my new jean; need the scissor to remove the tag, have you seen it?”
“Well well well, it’s not 'jean', that’s again ‘a pair of jeans’ and for that matter, even ‘trousers’ or ‘pants’ they
never come single!
And don’t forget the scissors , they are a pair too.. here, they are!”

ReplyDeleteIs it parent or parents ?
Both 'Parent' and 'Parents' are actually valid, depending upon whether they're referred together or individually
DeleteFor Ex.
1. Both parents are welcome to the school function
2. At least one parent should accompany the child
Hope this helps :)
