Too Good or Very Good?


Gita: How was the movie?


Sita: Too Good!


Gita: Too Good?


Sita: Yeah, too good! Have never seen something like this recently


Gita: Ok, I’m trying to understand if that is good or not. Tell me will you watch it again or not?


Sita: Definitely!


Gita: Alright, Now I assume it is actually very good


Sita: Too good is not very good?


Gita: Well, “too good” is actually a tricky phrase than a simple adjective. Something can be good or very good or even extremely good, but too good means something beyond the limits or simply non existent


Sita: Oh, like in “too good to be true”


Gita: exactly, for example, the news that says all employees will get 100% salary hike is.. 


Sita: ..too good to be true


Gita: Very good :)

Lata: I'm sorry I'm too happy.. can't see what you are pointing out Gita: alright, as you know, English is a phonetic language and the meaning changes with pronunciation, even if spelling is same. Ex. Read (present) vs Read (past) Similarly,  Content with a stress on the first syllable makes it a noun which would mean ingredients. Whereas,  content  with stress on the second syllable makes it an adjective which would mean "satisfied" content  - ' kaan -tent' - noun - ingredients content  - 'kun- tent ' - adjective - satisfied Now I assume your new job is about content writing, right?
